Community Foster Care Joins Forces with Friends of Pica for Fundraising Event to Build Inclusive Play Park

Community Foster Care (CFC) have come together to aid Friends of Pica in their efforts to raise funds for a new play park.

This project aims to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive space where residents of all ages can gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors together.

The fundraising efforts will be supported by a sponsored litter pick event on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Volunteers are encouraged to meet in Pica, Workington area at 11 a.m. to take part in the litter pick, which promises to enhance the local environment while fostering a sense of community pride and cooperation.

In addition to the litter pick, the event will feature a tombola and a cake stall, offering a selection of fresh, homemade treats for purchase. These activities not only promise fun and excitement but also provide an excellent opportunity for residents to contribute to a meaningful cause.

Pica is a lovely welcoming little Village which really does need a play park for all of the Children, Residents and the extended Community to be able to come together and enjoy. Being able to have a play park for Pica would promote a sense of Community, Inclusion and wellbeing for all. Please support us in raising funding for a much-needed cause.” said Penny Hall, Family Support Worker at Community Foster Care.

This is an excellent opportunity to support a fantastic community project. Residents and participants are encouraged to bring their friends and families to the event.
