Jennie - Chair of Trustees

Jennie has lived in Gloucestershire all her life. After leaving school she spent eight years as a Police Constable in the county before setting up her own driving school.

Eventually a love of children led her to undertake a teaching degree at Gloucestershire University. Jennie has taught in primary schools in the Gloucester, Cam and Stroud areas and in 2006 became Head Teacher of Staunton & Corse C of E Primary School.

Jennie was approached as a potential trustee by the Chair of Community Foster Care in the summer of 2015 and stepped into the role of Chair of Trustees early in 2022.

"I see many links between the work of the group and my own role of Head Teacher. Ultimately we share the goal of working with families and young people in order to offer help and support."

Staunton & Corse became an Academy in 2011. This means that Jennie has experience of balancing commitments to ensuring that young people have the best possible chances in life with the necessary statutory and management skills that operating as a business entails.

She says: "I look forward to working together with staff and trustees to further the aims and statements of purpose of Community Foster Care."
