Foster Carer Buddy System

The program is to provide support for new and prospective foster carers, a go-to person who understands the fostering assessment process and the challenges that come with being a new foster carer.

While our foster carers all have access to 24/7 support from our Supervising Social Workers and are encouraged to join in with foster carer support groups, we understand that some people feel more comfortable with more one to one support and who better to provide that than someone who knows exactly what you’re going through?

Buddy’s will provide support for the first year (or longer if required) for our new foster carers. Our buddy’s will have also received induction training and have fostered for at least a year. Our buddy’s will be allocated based on a matching process.
