6 Traits of a CFC Explorer

Explorers Not Experts

We want to continually learn, feel safe to challenge ourselves & others in how we think and operate. This is a journey, mistakes are inevitable and that's okay.

Trauma Informed

Being a CFC explorer is an extension of being trauma informed - understanding our communities, cultures and identities, while understanding and challenging our own beliefs, biases, and assumptions allows us to make more informed decisions and bear greater empathy.

Dedicated to Equality/Equity

Equality is the destination but we understand equity is needed to get there - this means treating people differently dependent on their need.

Diverse & Inclusive

Diversity is valued & embraced and every person is free to share their true identity. Every CFC Explorer knows they will be welcomed, accepted and included as themselves. We know a diverse crew is essential to serve the diversity of our communities.

Evolving

Curious, self-aware, reflective and critical thinkers are open to evolution - we will adapt our ways of working and make changes as our understanding and the communities we serve, develops.

Pirate

We're not afraid to be a little bit rebellious, to challenge the status quo when we see things that can be made better, to stand up for what we believe in and to look out for each other.
